“Preserving the Past for Future Generations”

De Pere Business Member:

I write this letter to ask you to personally consider a business membership in the De Pere Historical Society.  If you are already a business member, I encourage you to renew your membership for the year 2010.

Membership affords you an opportunity to advertise and to also support local history of which you and your business are a part.  Your business membership entitles your business to be listed in the Society’s newsletter, which is mailed out to all members several times a year.  In 2009,

the Society had a total of 342 paid individual and business memberships.  Also, as a business member, you are listed on the De Pere Historical Society’s website.

With a donation from a De Pere resident, in 2009 we completed the installation of five computer workstations at the White Pillars Museum, 403 N. Broadway, with a server-based digital archive system.  The archive contains De Pere newspapers back to 1878, over 20,000 historical photographs, old maps of the City, historical ledgers of De Pere businesses, funeral cards, etc.  This archive could prove to be an invaluable resource should you be interested in researching the history of your property or the building in which your business is located.

Your membership also supports the ‘Historical Photo Shows’ which the Society presents throughout the year at one of the two local high school auditoriums.  In addition to maintaining White Pillars Museum, the Polo Resto historical filling station at the entrance to Voyageur Park is maintained by the Society and is available to business members, should you want to hold a trail-side event.

Business membership is available in three levels, Bronze ($50 to $99), Silver ($100 to $249), and Gold ($250 and up).  Please complete the membership form and return it with your check in the envelope provided.  Remember, your dues are fully tax deductible.  Thank you for considering a membership in the De Pere Historical Society.

Sincerely,

Thomas Walsh, President
